
Leader in Technology-Driven Business Growth Shohreh Abedi
Shohreh Abedi serves as executive vice president and chief operations and technology officer for The Auto Club Group, an affiliate of the American Automobile Association (AAA). She heads the travel sales and service and membership lines of business, with a focus on product and partner development to drive revenue generation. She additionally leads with the emergency roadside services division to leverage new technologies to offer more self-service options and streamline business processes between field operations and call centers. Abedi is accountable for $1.2 billion in capital and operating expenses, $1.5 billion in revenue goals, 4,500 employees, and 10 direct officers.
Shohreh Abedi also oversees The Auto Group's cybersecurity and implements strategies for capturing data to improve processes and inform decisions about new technology adoption. She chairs the Midwest Auto Clubs Board and formerly chaired the AAA Federation Technology and Digital Strategy subcommittee.
Prior to joining The Auto Club Group, Shohreh Abedi was senior vice president and chief information officer at Farmers Insurance. In this role, she transformed the entire technology infrastructure for the insurer to better align with business strategy. This included implementation of a new billing platform and the creation of an enterprise-wide digital strategy, as well as modernization of legacy systems. Abedi also played a strategic role in mergers and acquisitions and efforts to improve financial transparency. Earlier in her career, she was a vice president at Capgemini, a global management and technology consulting firm.
Throughout her career, Abedi has published pieces on using technology to drive operational efficiency and align business processes with executive vision and development strategy. She has also focused on the intersection of technology and talent development, as skilled employees are key to delivering excellent results. Abedi's work in using technology to improve operations and drive growth has been recognized by several organizations. Women in Insurance, NASSCOM, and Celent have all presented her with awards.
